Learn about how Naomi overcomes challenges of studying English

Sympathy

Wherever I have to go, like the Pharmacy, I have to have conversions with shopkeepers in English. In the most cases, I would see their frustration because they couldn’t understand what I wanted to say.

This is just the starting point with their frustration. It makes me feel uncomfortable to stay there. Have you had that experience before?

I also feel sympathy for them because they have to spend an uncomfortable time to talk with me.

It is easy to lose confidence, I also feel sympathy for them because they have to spend an uncomfortable time to talk with me. This makes me try to finish the conversion as soon as possible. After this, I would pretend to understand what they wanted to say to me because I don’t want to make them frustrated anymore.

My name is Naomi and I live in Australia. I have been struggling with English for many years. However since I started using WowReader regularly, I feel like my life is expanding. I feel great joy when sharing my life with every person I encounter. Fortunately I have been asked to write about my experience of living overseas using English as a second language. These stories are a reflection of my life, struggles and victories. I hope some of my stories touch your heart.
